Layawan River

Updated: Aug 21, 2021

One of the places you should visit and experience when you are in the City of Good Life.

The Layawan River was awarded the 'cleanest and the greenest' river in Region 10 suggesting that its water quality surpasses any river based on some water quality standards.

It is also more fun to swim with friends.

A consistent awardee of the Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran as the Cleanest Inland Body of Water in the Philippines. Layawan River’s pristine water flows directly from the bosom of Mt. Malindang and is ideal for fishing, swimming, and other water sports such as water tubing...

Have you been here before?

Many locals have been enjoying the nature's gift as it flows all the way from the bosom of Mount Malindang towards the open sea. During my childhood days, one of my favourite past time is to swim and to take a dip at the Layawan River together with my friends. I remember the big old mango trees near the Layawan Elementary School where we used to climb and jump off to the river just below it competing who got the biggest and loudest splash of water. Those days, were I see many people were doing their laundries on the river banks, some are fishing and some are quarrying stones and sands. What are your experiences in Layawan River?
