In Revu 2019 and above, the full set of features in the eXtreme edition are installed and enabled by default. The edition is determined by the serial number and product key. Once a Standard or CAD license is registered, the feature set for each edition is enabled. Please make sure the licensing information you use matches the Revu edition (Standard, CAD, or eXtreme) you are deploying. See the Edition Overview page for detailed information about the features in each edition.
This is a free utility that is used for editing the registry to ensure the serial number descriptor of each FTDI device is ignored during driver installation. This feature ensures any FTDI device connected to a USB port is given the same COM port number.
On the Arena website, the Download the Trial option will provide you with the latest release of Arena. (You will be required to register. You will receive a link to download the software when you complete your registration.) During the installation of Arena, when asked for a serial number, use STUDENT to install with the academic modeling limits.
Also note that, if the --install option is used, any .m4file containing a required macro that is found in a directory listed inACLOCAL_PATH will be installed locally. In this case, serial numbers in .m4 are honored too,see Serial Numbers.
One reason why you should keep --install in the flags evenafter the first run is that when you later edit configure.acand depend on a new macro, this macro will be installed in yourm4/ automatically. Another one is that serial numbers(see Serial Numbers) can be used to update the macros in your source treeautomatically when new system-wide versions are installed. A serialnumber should be a single line of the form
where nnn contains only digits and dots. It should appear inthe M4 file before any macro definition. It is a good practice tomaintain a serial number for each macro you distribute, even if you donot use the --install option of aclocal: this allowsother people to use it.
When aclocal sees a greater serial number, it immediatelyforgets anything it knows from files that have the same basename and asmaller serial number. So after it has found/usr/share/aclocal/thirdparty.m4 with serial 2,aclocal will proceed as if it had never seenm4/thirdparty.m4. This brings us back to a situation similarto that at the beginning of our example, where no local file definedthe macro. aclocal will install the new version of themacro in m4/thirdparty.m4, in this case overriding the oldversion. MyPackage just had its macro updated as a side effect ofrunning aclocal.
For historical and implementation reasons, the AM_TESTS_ENVIRONMENTvariable is not supported by this harness (it will be silentlyignored if defined); only TESTS_ENVIRONMENT is, and it is to beconsidered a developer-reserved variable. This is done so that, whenusing the serial harness, TESTS_ENVIRONMENT can be defined to aninvocation of an interpreter through which the tests are to be run.For instance, the following setup may be used to run tests with Perl:
The "port lookup" function only works with virtual COM ports, such as USB-to-serialcables. Since Microsoft Windows has drivers pre-installed for USB devices simulatinga serial port, it is a popular design. To use the port lookup function, put the complete device name of the virtual COM port at the "Port="setting. You can find the device names in the registry below the path"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM".For example, for a common Prolific USB-to-serial cable, the setting in the INIfile might read: 2b1af7f3a8
