This example uses the HBase database and hbase-connector as the source of truth. Some components of this example use deprecated Node and Sql8 APIs. To use those deprecated APIs, you must link your server to version 1.8.1 or the apis have been removed. You can use version 1.8.1 with a new connection to a database instance created with version 3.0 of the database.
If you have Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later installed, you can configure ODBC so that SQL Server Express can be used as a server instead of a regular, full-fledged Microsoft SQL Server. You then can configure and use the hbase-connector to connect to one or more database instances installed on your local machine or cloud server.
See Connect to a database server, for how to use the hbase-connector with a new connection to a database instance created with version 3.0 of the database. See Readwrite Data: Mapping, for how to read and write to a table from a hbase-connector client and also how to delete and insert records to a table. See Commonly used methods, for some useful methods for manipulating the data. See Data Access, for loading data and queries to a dataset.
Parsing of date and timestamp values is specific to the hbase-connector library. The Noda Time library is used to parse the timestamp in commands, and the Noda Time library is used in the hbase-connector client. d2c66b5586
